This large Bankside restaurant is one of this chain's nine outposts - eight of which are in London. This one's right next door to the Globe theatre, so it does well with the tourist pound. Outdoor seating fills up quickly on sunny days.

The focus is on Greek rather than Greek-Cypriot dishes, with the various sharing menus named after the nation’s provinces. Rather than typical Cypriot pitta bread, you’re offered the far superior fluffy flatbread of the mother country. It's mostly mezze, so expect dishes such as tzatziki, taramasalata, dolmades, lamb kofte and beef meatballs with a feta dip. 

Greece dominates the wine list too, though Italy and France bulk things out a little. Beer comes by way of Kronenbourg, Moretti and Mythos.

My friend and I opted to order a bunch of dishes to share in a sort of tapas style dinner. For the cold mezze we had: Greek flatbread with melitzanosalata and dolmadesWe decided to go with this aubergine dip rather than hummus because the latter is quite ordinary and widely available, whereas the former was something different. The dolmades were my favourite cold mezze – they were light and super tasty! The tomato and herb rice stuffed inside the vine leaves was flavourful and quite a typical Greek dish so I’ve been told.

As for our hot mezze, we ordered FIVE dishes. The first was the lamb skewers. This was really well done in my opinion – the lamb was lean and well cooked. It was already tasty on its own, as the flavour of lamb is quite strong but paired with the pickled onions and lemon mayonnaise on the side, it was even better!

Next, we had some chicken skewers. Much like the lamb skewers, they were served with onions and bell peppers in between the pieces of chicken, pickled onions and lemon mayonnaise on the side.

To keep our meats a little varied, we ordered some seafood as well. The prawns in a tomato and feta cheese sauce sounded like a good option, so we went for that. It came served a mini skillet with a good amount of prawns in a tomato sauce and the feta cheese crumbled on the top and a wedge of lemon to squeeze over. I liked that there was a good amount of feta cheese in the dish. It blended really well with the tomato to make a creamy sauce with the prawns and even the flatbread!

My favourite dish was definitely the lamb meatballs. One order came with 4 meatballs served with a mint yogurt sauce and a tomato sauce on the side. Firstly, they were HUGE in size – as a good and proper meatball should be! Secondly, the minced lamb meat used to make the meatballs was SO succulent and tasty. They were really moist, tasty and flavourful meatballs. Lastly, the two sauces on the side paired well with the meatballs even though they were already so good on their own. The mint yogurt sauce gave a refreshing and uplifting touch to the meatballs, which were actually quite heavy and the tomato sauce tasted just like a lamb ragout sauce.

The last tier of our hot mezze was an order of the lamb kefte souvlaki. It is essentially lamb meat, fresh tomatoes and red onions stuffed into a Greek flatbread and seasoned with cucumber and garlic in Greek yogurt. I thought this was prepared well with the combination of flavours packed into the flatbread and just enough dressing to keep it moist without making the flatbread soggy.

One of the dips was real apology, they just offered us more.  Which obviously we didn't want! Disappointing! 


Really disappointing. First thing we were told when we entered it was that they had run out of salad, every kind of salad. Not a piece of tomato in sight. Really greasy, small portions, we ordered retsina and got standard white wine. And to top it all, really terrible service, long delays and quite rude, and the restaurant was half empty when we visited, hardly rush hour.
