Concealed between the busy Kingsway and the serene Lincoln’s Inn Fields "The Oak Room" located above The Ship Tavern public house, (Est. 1549) exudes charm and warmth. Antique paintings, books and trinkets adorn the mahogany walls and a crackling open fire and private booths create a cosy ‘Dickensian’ environment.
The menu features great British restaurant classics such as steaks, chops, pots, pies, pork belly & our famous ‘1549 house ale’ beer battered fish & chips as well as a daily specials board.
After dinner you can relax in our main downstairs bar whilst supping one of our six award winning cask ales. Open for Saturday brunch & Sunday lunch featuring live jazz every Sunday in the main bar from 4pm.
