Vietnamese for not-foodies, hence good reveiws. Average food, scowling waiters. Learn English and civilized customer service, and, possibly, how to cook interesting food.

With the welcoming feel of a brasserie, this large, bright, airy and cool dining room – the walls decorated with painted murals of Vietnamese scenes and the ceiling hung with paper lanterns – is a pleasure to visit. This holds true even when the place is crowded, as it often is with a largely western clientele that includes a high percentage of fashionable locals. Service is generally prompt and efficient, and the menu fairly extensive, if a little predictable and short on vegetable dishes. The kitchen prides itself on using fresh ingredients and the food reflects this – but we found ourselves needing to make liberal use of the table sauces provided (something that rarely happens in a Vietnamese restaurant). For example, a stunningly handsome, piled-high platter of sizzling seafood failed to measure up to its looks as, although perfectly cooked and a textural treat, it seemed almost totally devoid of added flavourings. On the plus side, there’s an attractive selection of oriental-themed cocktails – such as Vijito, a minted mix of rum, and lime and passionfruit juices – though a fairly limited choice of wines.

thıs place is best othantic resturant at hackney its worth a try
fast line mini cab service 0208 5332727
I cannot believe some people have rated this restaurant badly - it is the best Vietnamese restaurant in East London! And quite a lot nicer than the local fare in Vietnam itself. Sure it is often busy and the service can be brusque at times, but the quality of the food is far, far superior to its competition. The quality of ingredients really shines through. The restaurant is very clean and tidy and is nicely decorated. Even the wine list is good. It is slightly more expensive than similar restaurants, but absolutely worth it. Recommend: squid, beef salad, bun cha ga, crispy duck..
Dirty glass with tap water. Greasy food, small portions. The starter arrived after we finished mains. Pricey Very bad service. You eat and get the bill within 3mins. We didn't get a chance to order desert and relax
Best food in Hackney Central no doubt about it. Been 3 times ordering different things and have never been disappointed, in fact the only reason i'm on this site now is because i wanted to see if it is still open now so I can go again but alas it has closed for the night...
Good food and reasonably priced. The service was great. Quite busy on a Monday night! Probably best to book at the weekend.
I have eaten out in this area a fair deal and without a doubt, this is my favorite restaurant. The food is really REALLY good and the waiters are very friendly too.
All I have to say is wow the food is absolutely amazing here! The food is the freshest that I've ever come cross which is why we are here every week! This place keeps getting better and better when I come back. They've recently introduce this yummy drink 'bubble tea' which are all different flavoured drinks with small round tapioca pearls in them. I'm hooked! They're so busy they recently brought next door to expand the restaurant. That says something. There is a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly which is lovely. I normally have the summer rolls and pho Bo (flat noodle in a lovely broth) at a very cheap price. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who was looking for authentic Vietnamese food at a great place.
This restaurant has great vietnamese food. I brought my vietnamese friend along to rate it for me. Each dish came out at different times (as custom in vietnam.) which may annoy local londoners who think its rude if you get served at different times. This is the only downside to the restaurant. APart from this, the food authentic, delicious, healthy and cheap!
Me and my friends have been coming here for years from when they were first started in the smaller Tre Viet but now they've expanded into a more spacious restaurant with better service than before. Previously the service was slow but Ive got to say that its improved a lot what it was before. They've even started to introduce Bubble tea which is a flavoured juice with jelly balls in them! We are addicted to them! It's always busy in here which is a good sign as we're having to book our tables on the weekend. Overall I think that the service have improved immensely and its very affordable for the quality of the food that you get.
Not recommended. It took 45 minutes for our starters to arrive-- and then my boyfriend's starters was wrong. My meal arrived 15 minutes later-- an hour after we ordered. This was on a Wednesday night! My boyfriend's meal never arrived at all. We walked out.
A very overpriced and quite frankly disappointing meal. I asked for their specialty and was directed to their pho with beef. What I got was a paltry offering compared to some other Vietnamese pho restaurants I've been to. The slices of beef were disgusting--over 80% fat or skin (not even tendon), and the meat that was there was tough and stringy. There were only a few sprigs of Vietnamese basil and a small handful of bean sprouts on the side. There also wasn't much in terms of noodles in the bowl either (again in comparison to the normal amount offered). All this for 7 quid?? What a ripoff!! I definitely will NOT be back again. And as for authenticity, I guess I should've been tipped off when I went in during the lunch hour and saw no Asian clientele. Jing and Nancee--I bet you guys are affiliated with the restaurant.
My company and I were very dissappointed in the quality of food and the service. Will not go there again.
Sick and tired of going into restaurants like this and people being allow to walk in selling DVDs, I wish the staff would stop this. I don't want my meal interrupted 4 times because someone is selling fake DVDs
