The diner-style interior of Lucky 7 comes straight out of central casting, with Cadillac-sized booths, kitsch adverts and vintage neon signs all competing for attention in this boutique-sized slice of Americana.
Only the bottle of West Indian pepper sauce on each table is a clue to the Westbourne Park location.
The open kitchen specialises in breakfasts, burgers and shakes with a West Coast influence by way of Mexico.
Our 'Kalfornian' burger was piled high with monterey jack cheese, guacamole and sour cream; a huge stack of onion rings had been beer-battered to perfection - the best we've eaten outside the US. 'Exterminator chilli' was pleasingly, eye-wateringly hot, the vegetarian version being an alternative to the mainly meat-focused menu.
The no-bookings policy became clear when the shared booths filled up with after-school kids slurping on peanut butter shakes, and groups of local hipsters looking for a bacon cheeseburger hit.
Fans of American beer will appreciate the Samuel Adams and Blue Moon brews. Ice-cream sundaes and pies (apple, pecan) complete the authentic diner experience.

Babies and children welcome ( children's menu ), Bookings not accepted, Takeaway serviceFood was good, justabove average. Its been a while since I came here, but I don;t have anythign memorabel to share with respect to food.
What is memorable wthough was the bad service. I tried to pay with my debit card, which was rejected, not because i did not have enopugh mioney, btu because these things happen every now and then, you just need to retry with the same card, it is sometimes down to bad connection of the payment unit.
THE WAITER REFUSED TO RETRY, saying that I had no money in my accoutn and demanded I use another card or cash. TEven though I was with a friend and not a date, thsi was highly embarrassing, and unacceptable, and somethiogn i never experienced. Did he realyl suggest I tried to get free burgers or something? I understand people can have bad days, but just stay moody and miserable, don;t insult your customers.
