Decor is simple and inexpensive in this unassuming little restaurant - all sparkly decorations, wood-effect panelling and, of course, the prerequisite photographs of the Thai royal family. Thus far, it's a typical local Thai eaterie; what isn't typical is the food.

The menu is big on choice, with additional sections devoted to vegetarian food, signature dishes, regional delicacies and set meals. Don't be overwhelmed: you'll almost invariably find your selection doesn't disappoint (though ask for advice if you're unused to fiery food). We selected three very spicy dishes with a potent heat familiar to those who have enjoyed native Thai cooking. Our meal was impeccable, with fresh and exhilarating flavours.

Staff were extremely obliging and clearly take pride in their food. They happily explained various dishes and made recommendations when asked. The gelatinous green and white Thai pudding - made with, and served in pandan leaves - might otherwise have been overlooked, but was as delicious as it was unusual. An essential stop-off for a reasonably priced and authentic Thai meal.

This restaurant is excellent and outstanding value for money. They will cook dishes which are not on the menu. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and finally, the food is brilliant!

This place always delivered good taste and good portions... Gotta say, those days have ended. Last time the portions were delivered (home delivery) they were tiny and they forgot the sauces. So when we ordered this time we stated that we had been disappointed and just let them know why. But they turned up again small.

We called them and they didn't seem very interested. So may be they are becoming a victim of their fame... Pork was dry, spring rolls were bland and soggy.

Recently discovered Mantanah after reading a couple of reviews. Have been to say many Thai restaurants in London which are always pretty run of the mill, but have to say that Mantanah really is amazing - amongst the most authentic, creative and friendly that we've eaten in. The herbs, spices and vegetables are just as in thailand - no substitutes. You'll find Banana blossom, Lotus, and Thai aubergine spiced as the Thai's like it (unless you prefer it less so - they will warn you and are very accomodating). The fish in a garden (twice cooked seabass mixed with galangal, ground rice, chilli and thai herbs), chicken and banana blossom and lotus salad are all delicious. The staff are very knowledgable and passionate about the food. It's slightly out of the way but after our first visit we continue to make the journey and it really is worth the trip.
