You'll find a mixed bunch of punters, from young families to dog walkers, gathered in this expansive, communal-dining-room-cum-pub. Tables are uncomfortably squeezed together in the main bar; stools at the counter act as a holding area before tables become free, or offer mid-afternoon relaxation after a walk around nearby Primrose Hill.
For the ale hunter, there are a couple on draught; the wine drinker has many options by the glass.
A few tables outside catch the afternoon sun.
At one time a leading Primrose Hill gastropub, the main attraction now is the useful location.

The place has fallen apart! the food was just awful, what used to be my favourite Turkish pizza was a shadow of its former self, prices had increased! But the staff were the icing on the cake, the "general manager" was just awful, I have never in my life come across such an abrasive individual in the service industry, it very difficult to be both rude and insincerely friendly but she has it down to a tee, I'd love to say it was a one off but on three return visits I have been greeted with poor food and woeful service. Perhaps the owner needs to step in here... the Lansdowne is a shadow of its former self. Avoid.
I come here once a fortnight to catch up with friends from all over London and I'm never disappointed...or if anything doesn't go exactly to plan the staff deal with it really well. I'm not a fan of vegetables but am always seduced by the veggie options on offer or go for one of the fabulous pizzas. I try a different wine nearly every time, huge selection by the glass and the staff really know their stuff... Sounds too good to be true but it isn't! Check it out!
