It's from New York that this Notting Hill pizzeria takes its cues - a wraparound Times Square street scene covers the walls; a 'walk/don't walk' traffic light flashes in the window. Spacious booths accommodate groups and families, and screens show US sports.

From the oven come massive, thick-crust, piping-hot pies, loaded with the usual combination of toppings: pepperoni, parma ham, mozzarella, peppers, gorgonzola, mushrooms. You can order them by the slice for variation.

The rest of the menu is made up of solid renditions of Italian-American carby classics and salads (chicken milanese, pastas arrabbiata and bolognese, caesar salad). Hot fudge sundae and tiramisu are among the standard desserts - though die-hard fans could try the chocolate pizza.

Mulberry Street is a reliable all-rounder and fun, if unremarkable.

I've been here many times now for an NY sized pizza with the family, and for us it's one of the best pizza places in Notting Hill, and there are quite a few! Definitely recommended is the delicious Porcini Mushroom pizza. Service and staff are great, they're very friendly.
