Sleek dark furnishings, contemporary art-for-sale and deep olive green walls create a stylish feel to this narrow but cosy venue. Number 22's classy demeanour reflects its menu, which uses high-quality ingredients to create a modern take on tapas, and throws in a few more substantial dishes to boot. Prices aren't cheap, but the atmosphere is far from pretentious and staff will help you select a good spread of food. The menu is refreshed daily, with seasonal ingredients given their due. Purple sprouting broccoli with garlic and chorizo made a delicious tapa and worked well as a foil to more fatty (but no less delicious) dishes of fried monte enebro cheese and jamón serrano croquetas. Meat comes from well-known local butcher William Rose; veal cheeks with a provençal sauce made an interesting addition to the menu on this occasion. On Sundays, three types of paella are served, so if you happen to catch a sunny day, head for the sweet little courtyard at the back, which is ideal for enjoying a leisurely Cruzcampo along with seafood, meat or vegetarian rice. An intimate little restaurant that's ideal for couples or small groups of friends.

A real gem to have as a local. A constantly changing and inventive tapas menu and a really well priced sherry/wine list. Not a cheap, bog standard tapas place, but the quality really justifies the price. Seared tuna with saffron puree was a highlight on my last visit a couple of weeks ago. Look forward to visiting again soon!

this place is very pleasant , waitresses are knowledgeable and helpful! The food is amazing, the rabbit served with green olives and lemon is the winner ! So is the seared tuna with its saffron and celeriac purée!
I highly recommend it!
The wine I had was delicious!

Arrogant and overpriced.
Staff eager to turn covers quickly. Felt pressured to finish our meal. Not the spanish way of having dinner as we are accustomed (relaxed, convivial and enjoyable). Food however was tasty but overpriced.
Service - Deplorable
Food - Appetizing
Price - 5 star prices for 1 star service
