Ever reliable for good Spanish nosh, Number 22 has a modest menu of beautifully crafted tapas. There's a combination of traditional favourites (chorizo in cider, seared tuna with fennel and olives) and more exotic dishes such as roasted quail with sweet potato mash, or pumpkin roasted with sesame.

A section devoted to pintxos gives the opportunity to try smaller-sized appetisers: great for those who love to pick. Paellas are made fresh to order, so you have to wait a little, but this is time well spent if you prefer a more substantial main course. There are various set deals depending on when you visit, so it's worth checking these beforehand.

The wine list is extensive, but not exclusively Spanish, and desserts come with a recommendation for sweet wine or sherry. The backdrop isn't particularly Spanish in style; the dining room is sleek and contemporary, with dark flooring and furnishings. Number 22 is a cosy little local that's as good for couples as it is for an intimate evening with friends.

Arrogant and overpriced.
Staff eager to turn covers quickly. Felt pressured to finish our meal. Not the spanish way of having dinner as we are accustomed (relaxed, convivial and enjoyable). Food however was tasty but overpriced.
Service - Deplorable
Food - Appetizing
Price - 5 star prices for 1 star service
NO Spanish traits/character at Number 22
