It's a long way from Hammersmith to Park Lane, but it's a transition that Theo Randall (ex-River Café) has made with ease. Yes, the interior is very Mayfair - all hushed tones, soft brown and cream leather, glass screens and pistachio-green gladioli - but the ambience is cheery, warm and intimate, and service unstuffy and unfussy. The food too has made the transition from W6 to W1 with ease.

Produce is the star here, whether it's soft, fresh pappardelle with hearty beef ragù, or delicate smoked eel served with pretty orange beetroot, dandelion and fresh horseradish. Ingredients shine, and will have fans of Italian food in raptures as they discover rustic favourites such as cima di rape, borage leaves, ricotta and sage in a mixed green ravioli, or taste the little pile of creamy aubergines and borlotti beans served with generous hunks of beef sirloin. Staff were charming; our waiter even managed to get a sulky teenager at the next table to smile.

First time booking online, it was very easy and reassuring. When we arrived we were meet by lovely service and experienced the same the whole night, plus the food was outstanding, thank you for a good time.
