On our latest visit, Wild Honey exceeded even our high expectations. The kitchen delivered the menu's promises in spades: dishes drew gasps of delight for their sensational flavours and technical brilliance.

We were afraid the pre-theatre set menu would be comparatively dull, but a chicken and eel terrine was a terrific earthy, briny, herby dish, offset with sweet chutney and perky salad. Gurnard (currently the most fashionable sustainable fish), spiked with dill, baby capers, raw fennel and an oily, rich tomato dressing, and served with soft gnocchi, was exceptional.

From the carte, raw mackerel, accompanied by beetroot, more tiny capers, pine kernels, baby coriander and wafer-thin slices of red and black radish, was stop-in-your-tracks good. Although there's a marked seasonality to the menu, some dishes common to Wild Honey and sister restaurant Arbutus will be familiar to regulars - no bad thing when it comes to the 'floating island' that's a fixture of the set-price menu.

The cheeseboard is a sight to behold too. The attractive old oak panelling is brightened by large pretty abstracts; the closely packed tables probably explain why prices aren't higher. As at Arbutus, all wines from the well-chosen list are available in 250ml carafes. Our only complaint is that service was over-eager.

A great place for a quiet Sunday lunch. Excellend food and ambience. The wild honey ice-cream is a must-try!

Went for dinner, the food is top class and the service second to none. But be aware, it is easy to spend well over £150 for two people, without going over the top on wine and food. But this is one of those places where I think the food and overall experience warrants the high price.

Fabulous. Understated, informal yet friendly service and a beautiful mixture of delicate and bold flavours from the food. The Tarte Tartin dessert for two to share was enormous and delicious like no dessert I've ever had before. Bravo.

*** Went for dinner. Lovely, relaxed but refined atmosphere. Attentive waitstaff who were not intrusive. A great place for a quiet tete a tete. I had the eel appetizer, and the cod: both were very tasty. i did get a strainer for my tea. The chocolate soup was yummy, really more of a mousse in disguise. FYI, i ate alone, and would tell another traveler to feel fine doing the same.

Went there for lunch and even though starters were good and presentation lovely, but my special of the day chicken was raw. In the end they have taken it off the bill, but were not overly concerned. The leaf tea was served without strainers so had to ask if they had any. Not an expected Michelin star experience. Wander how they managed to get that star in the first place.

Haver to agree with the above review. Tiny portions, cold food, next door table's scallops were actually off. Terrible service - we sat in front of our menus at each course for so long we got totally bored and eventually went without pudding even though we were still hungry. Complaints were met with a gallic shrug.

Brasserie; not a restaurant. The starters were lovely, but wine waiters admitted no real knowledge of their offer. The cod was so bland it was sent back, and the rose veal lacked any distinction. Combined with a general lack of staff attentiveness, and an effort to include a 25% service charge, this was NOT AN EXPERIENCE WE WILL EVER REPEAT.‎
