Bijou, charming and usually crowded, Yalla Yalla is painted white, its walls decorated in photos of old Beirut. Yellow lamps hang over a takeaway counter crammed with delectable-looking treats, and rustic wooden tables and stools complete the appealing picture. Things were uncharacteristically quiet on a recent lunchtime visit, and a power cut meant there was no lighting and no hot dishes.
This is an informal spot, but the details are remembered: we were brought a little dish of olives and another of pickled vegetables; and small jugs of olive oil were on each table. The meze dishes were pretty faultless: a small portion of dense, garlicky houmous beautifully served in a swirl with an indentation of olive oil and some chickpeas; crisp fattoush salad, reddened with splashes of citrusy sumac; and spicy little sujuk sausages, served in a tomato-based, herby sauce (the kitchen managed to heat them on the gas). Grills augment the meze menu.
Takeaway dishes (which can also be eaten-in) include wraps (shish taouk, falafel, halloumi and more); savoury pastries such as manakeesh bi zaatar (warmed bread with olive oil dusted with zaatar spice); and sweets such as baklava. It's a winning formula.

My first visit was amazing everything the Leb wine also was excellent try the Kafraya red. will ne visiting again to try more dishes.
Fabulous, the meeze platter is a real bargain with a fresh lemonade all for under £10. The product also is first class.
First visit to Yalla Soho, Mezze were great, fattoush, Humus with lamb and fatoush salad to die for, lovely and cosy tiny cafe style, waitress so helpful with recommending as it was our first time and defenitely coming back.
After waiting for 15min at around 10pm, we were kicked out from the restaurant. The reason was because we didn't order the main meals from the menu. Stay away if you don't want to be forced what to eat!!!
Lovely food, big portions mezze was excellent and the chicken skewers was succulent and grillo perfection.
Nice Lebanese beer and service is good too.
By the way best FALAFEL in the town...
Fabulous x-mas party at Yalla, the lamb shoulder was oustanding and the musar red wine is absolutely great which work beautifully with the lamb and the wheat.
Excellent menu and great night.
Had a great meal on Friday, the place was buzzing, the food is Fantastic, the service is welcoming and attentive. Ask for their Daily special, had the the grilled halloumi and oregano in cgrilled crispy pitta bread and it was YUMMY YUMMY
Lunch at Yalla Yalla was exceptional, amazing charcoal grilled chicken weaps with a fresh a tasty fattoush salad, very busy so be prepared to wait but it worth it.
Went again, had fresh and tasty mezzes together my favourite Lebanese wine - Kefraya. Friendly waitress and fast service.Def worth the waiting time for a table, going back again when I come to London.
Great food, attentive service and good selection of Lebanese wine.
Be prepared to wait to get a table, the place is small but cosy and warm.
Extremely rude staff and very slow service . After waiting for 20 minutes for take away food the waiter who mixed up my order handed me my money back, told me not to waste his time and walked away. AVOID THIS PLACE!
The food is ok. However there has been a problem each and every time i have eaten here. today was the last time. the service is slow the staff sulky and can be cramped. perhaps all the stars are from people who havent eaten much lebanese food. i have never been servced a shawarma heated through on a panini heater before.
Street food should be quick hot and fresh. Disappointing
Excellent place recommended to me by a friend. Food tasty, authentic and fresh. Lovely atmosphere. Happy, helpful and friendly service. We ate a huge mixture of meze style dishes, all of which were faultless. The food was so good on our first evening visit that we called again for a quick takeaway lunch a few days later. We will certainly be back!
Try their daily special, the charcoal grilled quail with molasses and the pickled baby aubergines were yummy.Service is attentive and the atmosphere is great.
Amazing authentic food, attentive sercice and good atmosphere.
Absolutely dreadful.
Warm beer, greasy/poor tasting food, dreadful staff.
Avoid.
I've been here a couple of times now for lunch with a friend. The food has been good on both occasions and the service friendly. It is a little bit cramped and on both times we were there it was very busy. Saying that, we were never rushed.
AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING SERVICE AND PS: THE BEST CREAMY HUMUS IVE EVER HAD IN LONDON.....!!
Price is cheap so maybe it reflects in the food quality. Kibbeh Nayeh was mediocre, with more bulgur than meat. Hummus as good as the ones you can find in the supermarket. Mouhalabieh was not creamy as it should be.
Their brand new restaurant on Winsley Street is fantastic!
Nice fresh food and very friendly service. Hopefully the good ambience won't be spoiled when this hidden gem is discovered by the Londoners!
Went to tehir new venture at 12 WINSLEY STREET, W1W 8HQ last Friday for lunch and enjoyed it a lot, good value for money, nice service and tasty food!!
Will go back there again! Didn't know till the end of my lunch that it was their 1st day of trading! Well done guys.
Need to check their other site in SOHO.
Very good food, great quality and amazing flavours.Attentive service and good Lebanese wine.
Looking forward for another visit.
YALLA YALLA wonderful food fresh and authentic as always, service warm and helpful even when it gets very busy and crowdy.Always full so prepare to queue for a while but it worth.
I've been there twice for dinner. After my first time there, I got two impressions: 1) The food was amazing, and 2) The service was not that great in comparison with the food. Despite, this second impression, I decided to go again and give a second chance to the place. Unfortunately, things haven't changed, the food is still good, but the service is terrible. While waiting for a table, I had a cocktail which tasted like a simple lemonade. I kindly asked one of the waitresses (the same rude one that made my first time there unpleasant) if there had been a mistake. She looked at me as if I was saying the most ridiculous thing in the world, she seemed really annoyed, and said that she had made the cocktail herself and that there wasn't a mistake. When we finally got a table, another waitress, who wasn't as rude as the first one, took the order. Despite asking several times for water, it never came and my friend's main dish was forgotten as well. When paying the bill, the rude waitress mistaken the amount in the voucher, when my friend told her it was wrong, she gave him this awful look (the same one I got when I asked if there was a mistake with my cocktail)... In conclusion, the service is horrendous, not just inefficient, but very unfriendly and rude. It's really a shame, because the food is very nice, but with this kind of service I'm not bother to go back again, or recommend this place.
Had a great evening at YALLA YALLA- SOHO.Great and fresh food as always, the best chicken liver i've ever had, friendly service and excellent lebanese wine.
I don't get it, why does Time out think this place is great, yes it is cheap food, but there are plenty of places to get cheap food in London. If you want to get prepared food, reheated in a cramped unremarkable envrionment come here.
Exellent as always, food, service and great ambiance.
Will come back again
The best Lebanese cafe/restaurant style in London.
Authentic food, fresh and tasty, smiley service and great atmosphere as well cheap.
will come back defenitely
Fantastic as always, wonderfull food, Friendly service and great vibe at Yalla yalla.
By the way Yalla Yalla KITCHEN NEVER CLOSED, OPEN ALL DAY LONG UNTIL 11PM
There's a difference between bad service and spiteful service. I have no problem with the former, but unfortunately - and I say unfortunately because I truly wanted to like this restaurant - I received the latter. I can't recall being angry leaving a restaurant. The time I spent at Yalla Yalla - namely, the three hours waiting for food that never came because the kitchen had closed - was enough to make me angry. I strongly urge anyone considering to eat here to reconsider.
The food was nice, but whatever you do DON'T FOR THE LOVE OF GOT SIT DOWN. It took me half an hour to get a menu, and by the time our order arrived, it was the end of my lunch break. I had to hassle the waitress to pay, and she looked at me as if she'd just found me on the bottom of her shoe.
I went here because the name seemed to suggest that service would be quicker than snail's pace. It is not.
Had the Lamb Mashoue (sp?) for lunch - it was absolutely delicious - tender and smokey at the same time - how do they do it!
A great find in soho, will definitely go back again. Tends to get queues around peak lunchtimes though - sign of success??
As always still fantastic Lebanese food, smiley and lovely waitresses and sure reasonable prices.
Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Restaurant was packed when we arrived but it was worth to wait. Coming back soon
Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Restaurant was packed when we arrived but it was worth to wait. Coming back soon
Have given up ever eating here as there is always a half hour wait for a table and they don't take reservations... Grrrr, very annoying
All is great except that they don't take reservations unless you are a group of more than 10!
Was there for dinner on Saturday, the place was packed and we had to wait little bit to get us a table, the waitresses were so friendly, the food is authentic and full of flavour. The night was a great experience.Try their Red MUSAR is fantastic.
