Sufi hasn't missed a beat in all the years we've been visiting. It's a restaurant that combines authenticity with familiarity and respects the sense of ceremony in dining out - something that elevates it above more functional contemporaries. The walls are decorated with sitars and framed paintings of old clerics, the shelves lined with shishas and the floors covered with Persian rugs. As evening sets in, the lights are dimmed and staff distribute candles, creating a romantic atmosphere and making this one of few Iranian restaurants in London suitable for a date.
The food is first-rate, and takes in many regional dishes seldom seen in the capital. We started with a bowl of zeytoon parvardeh (olives in a crushed walnut and pomegranate sauce), native to the northern Caspian towns, and a plate of buttery tah dig (rice cake from the bottom of the pot) indulgently soaked in sauce from a split-pea stew. Mains were also excellent, from bitter-sweet fesenjoon (a rich chicken, walnut and pomegranate stew) to a daily special of zereshk polo (saffron and barberry-studded rice baked with shredded chicken). Service is friendly and efficient, and there's a good wine list as well as the option of BYO.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( children's menu; high chairs ), Separate room for parties ( seats 40 ), Takeaway servicevery very nice. wonderful starters - aubagine and hummus, tasty main - mixed grill. they offer freshly baked bread too which was delicious. really good, friendly service. overall it was delightful. will back for sure. they were fine about us bringing our own wine too, very reasonable corkage
Fantastic food , pleasant environment and excellent management. :)
The starters were slightly hit & miss (feta, walnuts and herbs was a small chunk of feta and a sprinkle of walnuts on an enormous bed of mint leaves, very strange). The humous and aubergine starters were very nice though and the freshly baked flat bread was a nice touch. The mains were fantastic, beautifully flavoured and very filling. The freshly made baklava was a real treat too. Fantastic service and very reasonable prices, I will definitely be back!
been to Sufi again a couple of nights ago. You could not ask for a better service and better food. very very fine persian cusine in a very nice, clean and relaxing atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and respecful. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of persain food already or who would like to try persian food for the first time.
