The paint may still have been drying on our inaugural visit to Brixton's latest bar-restaurant (located on the site of the ill-fated Z Bar), but there was nothing unfinished about Fiesta's excellent tapas menu. Most dishes hover tantalisingly around the £5 mark. We loved the combination of own-made salsa with fresh-tasting squid kebabs, while crumbly meat balls in a rich tomato sauce were the epitome of comfort food rendered in miniature. The highlight was a seared Japanese steak skewer, its melting tenderness a testament to the wide range of both influences and ability in the kitchen. Food is served until 10pm and the bar mixes a mean cocktail - yet more reasons for locals to be cheerful. After 10pm every night the Fiesta Bar goes into club mode with live performances from Thursday to Saturday.
