A sweeping, pewter-clad bar dominates the ground floor of this light and refreshingly modern art deco space. It's still a proper pub, though, with original 1930s oak panelling lining the walls and hand-pulled pints including Purity Pure Gold (a golden ale from Warwickshire), Sambrook's Wandle from Battersea, and Adnams Broadside from Suffolk. But most people are here to dine.
A salad of mixed beets, soft goat's cheese and pickled walnuts was a good start. Rib steak was a cut above, and as you'd expect for £21, correctly rare, moist and flavourful. Chips were of the skinny, french fry variety. Less impressive were the fish goujons, which resembled leftover scraps. Potted shrimps came warm and molten (rather than chilly and set), while a panna cotta was also melting: a product of the too-hot open kitchen, where delayed dishes were disintegrating before delivery. Not that we cared, because the grub was still good.
A good wine list and Wayne Collins cocktail list offer diversion, but it's the congenial atmosphere and friendly service that are the most potent draws.

Facilities
Tables outdoors ( 20, garden ), Babies and children welcome ( children's menu; high chairs; nappy-changing facilities ), Booking advisable ( Sun ), Available for hire, Disabled ( toilet )Great setting, friendly staff - Most of the food is great though fish and chips a little bland. Lunchtime menu very reasonably priced - in the evening the service is a little slow but would definitely go back again.
Very poor waiting staff, who are inattentive and evasive and wander around ignoring customers. Tonight we gave up and walked out of the place after sitting for quite some time just trying to get a menu.
Friendly staff, well presented food but disappointingly tasteless and overpriced. Although the complaint was handled fairly well we won't be going back there to eat.
A lovely addition to Streatham, especially at this end of the high street. Food/drink is tiny bit pricy compared to other pubs in the area (aka Wetherspoons!) but tasty and much better than standard pub fare. I've been a few times now & the service is always friendly and professional.
Its simply amazing. The food is exciting, very fresh and full of taste, the service is perfect, friendly but extremely professional and the environment is clean, casual but unique. I can highly recommend it. Its just what Streatham has been waiting for.
Having just bought a house in Streatham I would love to thank the owners of The Manor Arms for opening such a wonderful gastro pub on my doorstep. Gorgeous pub, huge with loads of table seating, lots of nice comfy leather sofa's and a big garden. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to get my dog water and treats. The food is of a very high standard and the £11 set menu is very reasonable. There are lots of other lovely touches including a fabulous and thoughtfully selected wine list. Proud to call it my local :-)
Been there twice now, and superb food on both occasions. Had the Guinea Fowl with mash, and my wife had the fish with cauliflower mash, both superb ! Well done Manor Arms......we certainly wont miss the old establishment that was here before ! A breath of fresh air in Streatham !
Just can't believe the change in this place. Friendly, welcoming, comfortable, great food (I've been several times now). Traditional Sunday lunch is highly recommended. At last Streatham is on the gastronomic map!
great pub, fab wine list and the food is amazing. Try the home made pork scratchings if you go...over I highly recommended a visit...I live very nearby and the smell coming out of the place makes it very difficult to not eat all my meals there!
Garden looking fabulous. Just in time for this ridiculously hot April. Thank you The Manor
The Manor Arms is a great addition to Streatham in general. Seriously, the pre-transformation Manor Arms was actually a great laugh, if you were prepared to chat with local nutters, the occasional junkie and a few hookers with your bottle of Newcastle Brown over a few rounds of pool.
Seriously the transformation of the place is nothing short of divine intervention. Gorgeous, fresh food served from the new open plan kitchen, a healthy wine list and a good smattering of ales and beers, in a newly refurbished and tastefully decorated pub. What more do you want?
Good service perhaps, okay you got me there, the service was a little shaky, we had to ask for a few minor changes and the lack of gluten free options meant the my father-in-law was stuck with little to choose from. But in their defence they tried hard to accommodate us, nothing was a problem and the food was really tasty. So I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this, but we’ll see when we next visit.
Overall this is a really really good local London pub, certainly one of the best in the area and I’ll defiantly be back. I’m telling anyone who’ll listen as well as dragging my mates down as this is one of the few burgeoning highlights in Streatham and that alone means it gets my support.
Local and lovely, I’ll defiantly be back, this Saturday perhaps...
Have been in a few times since the refurb and have been very impressed. Excellent beer and wine selection, delicious Sunday lunch and the recent addition of a brunch menu has been a welcome option for a weekend morning. Very friendly staff too, just need a garden refurb in time for summer and I'll be an even happier camper.
food arrived late. Wrong courses. Table next to us complained. Had high hopes. won't go back. Shame
Just had Sunday lunch at the Manor Arms. Food and service was excellent, and the house Malbec was delicious. But, there were so many children running amok, screaming and climbing all over the furniture and tables, that it was hardly a relaxing meal. At our table we were yelling at each other to be heard over the noise. The staff did attempt to contain the children, but as the parents didn't seem to care it was difficult for the staff to lower the noise level and try to create a nice environment for the non-parents in the restaurant. I would recommend the Manor Arms for evening meals as the food was really good and it is such a nice haven in Streatham.
Stunning transformation from its previous incarnation as a old fasioned non-descipt boozer. Delicious food served from the open plan kitchen, great value fixed price menu during the week and fine selection of ales, beers and wines. All in all a fantastic pub with friendly staff that will surely draw in the Spring crowds as word of this gem spreads to the neighbourhoods.
Very fair review. I thought it was really nice on my visit, food was superb, service was great, maybe a little on the expensive side for drinks - £420 for pint of Estrella Damm and £450 for Birra Moretti - for the area, but food prices were pitched just right as the quality was high. Overall i'm delighted to see such a pub in Streatham as SW16 is so poorly served by pubs right now (The Earl Ferrers is the only other decent one within reach)
