This Covent Garden parlour, fittingly decorated in cool stripes of coffee and vanilla, offers one of the most authentic Italian gelateria experiences in London. Old-fashioned machines run behind the counter all day, making the freshest possible gelato, with a light, velvety texture. Recipes draw on ingredients from the owners' native Turin - high-quality dark chocolate, milk and nuts - and steer clear of preservatives and artificial colourings.
A real and infectious enthusiasm for ice-cream prevails: when you make your choice, staff are quick to suggest the perfect complement - for example, fior di latte (an extremely light, milk-based ice-cream) with an exceptionally soft strawberry sorbetti - and encourage you to taste other flavours before making your decision.
On our visit, one of the owners even brought round tasters of pistachio, hazelnut and the specialty, Breakfast in Turin (coffee ice-cream with Ecuadorian dark chocolate), so that customers could sample even more.
