Holloway Road used to be fertile ground for fetish fiends, with Fettered Pleasures and House of Harlot close by. But the closure of both of those shops has left this small but stylish boutique (previously called Showgirls) to carry the leather-bound torch on its own, with a supreme selection of latex fashion from Jane Doe, Inner Sanctum and more. Stock ranges from the briefest of briefs to slinky dresses, in striking colourways (like red and gold or blue and silver) as well as in classic black. The shop’s true selling point is as London’s only retail outlet for latex couturier, Vogue favourite and fetish award-winner Atsuko Kudo, whose glamorous ‘Hitchcock heroine’ take on latex means a range boasting stylish lace-print jacket-and-pencil skirt ensembles and accessories like her signature veiled pillbox hat, driving gloves and latex blinkers. A new, select menswear line in the basement offers alternatives to staple rubber shorts and kilts, from top hats and ties to braces, and there’s an ample sale rail.
