This has brought back happy memories. When i was thirteen (over 40 years ago) i worked in a shop called Swan & Edgars facing the Eros statue. My Mum worked there too, and during our lunch hour we'd go to Berwick St. market. I used to love browsing round the stalls and we'd end up in a lovely delicattesen shop on the corner, where Mum would buy delicious Italian cheeses that were hanging up in the shop. I must go back, and see if i recognise any of the shops, and see how it has changed!
Berwick Street Christmas Market
Berwick Street Market

Aiming to celebrate 'the independent and original spirit of Soho', Berwick Street Market has been a Soho fixture for years, earning it the label of one of the capital's oldest markets, if not the most abundant in stalls. Now, Berwick Street is inviting hand picked traders to form the first ever Christmas edition of the market. The line up will feature the arrival of new seasonal fresh produce, gifts, craft and fashion from independent retailers across the country. Companies such as The Dark Knights of Cholesterol will be selling their brand of unpasteurised cheeses from independent rural producers, while Smit & Sinclair will be providing cocktail flavoured sweets inspired by the prohibition era where moonshine alcohol was concealed within bags of candy. Customers will even have the chance to create their own alcoholic candy flavours according to their taste. Gourmet Hot Chocolate will also be there, selling a selection of specialist hot and iced chocolate made from 100 percent cacao from Columbian producers. Flavours include fudge, Ferrero Rocher and Baileys and if that doesn't hit the spot, a chocolate fountain with fruit and marshmallow skewers will be on hand to satisfy your sweet tooth.
