D&A Binder looks rather like the ghost of Grace Brothers past. It’s where old shop fittings come to rest, no longer needed for perfumery, haberdashery and wigs. David Binder sells to the likes of Hackett and Agent Provocateur but private individuals shop here too – the huge 1920s mahogany shirt cabinets are perfect for the shirted man about town. Chrome and glass display cabinets from the 1940s work well in modern bathrooms. Museum cabinets are often in stock too. Look out for 1920s hat moulds and corsetry advertising figures for manufacturers like Regent Corsetry or a 1950s Sunflex display for stockings. And, of course, chrome shoe stands will do a fine job displaying your treasured Manolos.
