Like cursing slow-moving shoppers on Oxford Street, ice-skating at Somerset House is a London Christmas tradition. To coincide with the arrival of the skating rink, nine displays, each curated by a fashion expert, will pop up around the building, telling the story of winter trends from the past century. Each display covers a different theme: Somerset House curator Shonagh Marshall presents fashion shows set in magical winter landscapes, Serge Martynov and Sofia Hedman, who archived the Met’s Alexander McQueen collection, focus on the colour white, while Tory Tork explores developments in skiwear.
