Three floors of new releases and back-catalogue surprises, plus good selections of books and DVDs, make this a great place for bargains. Look out for world cinema, art house masterpieces and anime – plus '80s teen classic DVDs on the ground floor and basement, with Fopp's full music selection upstairs. Once a small national indie chain, Fopp is now owned by HMV - although prices and stock seem to have remained poles apart.

Fopp may have seen better days, but they remain the template for all innovation happening at HMV now. They are the ultimate combination of indie and high street record store, big enough to have a wide selection on shelves but small enough to feature obscure titles that won't be bestsellers.
Fantastic selection of music, books and films. Open until late, is very convenient for last minute gifts/shopping.
I love Fopp!! It's the best entertainment retailers I've ever been to. Unlike their owner HMV, who focuses more on chart topping sales, Fopp focuses more on the quality of the arts, but also still do some chart topping stuff, of course. With a fantastic music, film and TV range (as well as a little niche selection of books, and great posters) you'll find lots of amazing classics, they also boast the lowest prices, and that's on their chart topping stuff, and new releases as well. Their music section is awesome, with a vast variety of music genres, and a great Vinyl selection, as well as CD's, of course, and there's always really good music playing in-store, that makes you go "this sounds amazing, what is this?" instead of the same generic music you hear everywhere else, there's such a great world of music to discover there. They also boast the largest 'World Cinema' range, as well as having the best 'Cult Classic' and 'Art-House Film' selection, which if you're a film buff like me, is heaven. They have all the best documentaries, and classic TV series' as well, you'll just spend hrs in there, and not walk out feeling like your pocket got rinsed. Above all; it's a very warming place to go to, the people who work their are very friendly and helpful, and are very knowledgeable about everything they sell there, there's a specialist for each floor of the shop, so you'll have no trouble finding what you want, and they're very honest, they'll tell you if they think something is rubbish, instead of just trying to make a sale, they'll help you with what they think will suit you based on your interest. It's just like walking into an old record shop or video shop, being very rare nowadays, as most have been closed down due to overwhelming online sales, which makes going to Fopp an exclusive and scarce experience. Don't miss out.
A really great outlet in the heart of Covent Garden for all music and film lovers. A must for visitors to London. It will be hard to leave empty handed.
Despite being connected to HMV, this is more like an independent music store than a branch store. You never know what you're going to find what you get when you enter the store and it's always a treat when you find something new. It's like Christmas come early every time!
Three floors of media (DVDs, Albums etc etc) at great prices and well displayed to make easy access. The staff are great and knowledgeable, especially 'Locks' the singer songwriter who works there at times. Fopp is a lively place that lives up to being the best for music, films and books at low prices.
Really helpful staff!! Nothing is to much trouble love this shop x PS also great bargains to be had!
Great shop to get loads of niche products. Staff are great and really know what they're talking about. They give great recommendations and have inspired me to buy outside my normal genre
An amazing place to browse, such an interesting range, really good value for money, with great signings and in store performances
Fopp has such an eclectic selection of music, books and film. It truly flies that flag for the independents.
