More of a speakeasy saloon than a conventional salon, world class hairdresser Kenna's studio above an East London pub has redefined follicular services. It's decked out with reclaimed barbers' kit, and all watched over with grace by a framed lock of Elvis's hair - but there is substance behind the style. The multitude of mirrors lining the walls are there to ensure stylists get your hair looking good from every possible angle, rather than for checking their own reflections. And while the attitude here may be informal, the expertise is exceptional. Kenna, when not flying the globe on commissions from Vogue, and resident blonde alchemist (a colourist who can turn dull, brassy hair into gold) Sophia, are joined by maverick cutter Banksy (not that one) and introduced 'Kennaland by Candlelight' sessions, which see the studio open until 11pm. Making it even harder to turn down that beer during your treatment.
