We have heard the odd less-than-favourable review of Cucumba, with testers griping about being ushered in and out a bit too quickly - but that's rather the point of this express Soho salon, which specialises in pit-stop beauty treatments. Happily, our testers don't have a bad word to say about their experiences here, where you can pick treatments charged by the minute. Choose between 'Topups', 'Quickfixes' and 'Pitstops'- and pay about £17 for a duo like an eyebrow shape and nail job, which will take about 17 minutes. New to the menu is the beguiling-sounding 'vajazzle fanny art', a steal at £3.50. Sadly, testers for this one were unavailable at the time of writing.

I have been to this Salon, where I was told that the hard skin around my nails I got due to lack of hand cream - which is not true and I have previously been to other salons where your hands are soaked usually with lemon juice or an alternative, to soften the hard skin around cuticles and to be removed. I also went in thinking the treatment was going to be fast - no really!! I was put off by the attendant who chit-chatted making me feel a complete "foreigner" which I prouldy am and still paid for the treatment, and left feeling ripped off, humiliated and having a rather stupid manicure that i could have done myself at home - which lasted half an hour, and mainly consisted of painting my nails. I promise will NEVER go again, but I wanted to leave this review because the only reason I went in the first place, was because I saw a positive review of this salon at TIME OUT. I reiterate: NEVER AGAIN.
