Great venue - wide range of performance music, theatre, and comedy - with an enthusiastic staff and management, that give it a crazy edge. Definitely somewhere to go to see the unexpected!
Great place to see up and coming shows and actors from a venue that has to be one of the best hidden secrets in North London.
You walk into a place where the cocktails are second to none and the entire staff are also second to none.
After visiting Moors Theatre one time I can almost guarantee you it will be on your list of repeats time and time again...!!!!
Talent. Talent. Talent. Moors Theatre always strive to bring the very best of the arts to Crouch End. When you arrive you get a nice fuzzy feeling and when you leave you take that feeling home with you. Bravo! X
The owner Andy really cares about his community and is always open to new ideas, wanting to offer the public a whole
variety of experiences and a whole lot of fun at the same time :)
My recent outing to The Moors Theatre was to watch "A Fairytale Murder", written by in-house play-write Seth Jones. The show was great, great actors, great script and great music! The thing that made it all work so well however, was the venue. A neat, well kept cocktail bar in the heart of Crouch End being used beyond its full potential! Although small, the bar creates a fantastic atmosphere with comfortable sofa seating below the raised stage. The perfect place to enjoy a beautiful cocktail from the barmaid after a memorable welcome from the doorman. The show began with fantastic LIVE MUSIC being played from the back of the bar, a top quality singer, songwriter who treated our ears several times whilst underscoring the rest of the performance from his keyboards. It really helped to set the scene and heighten tension throughout the piece. Another thing this venue has to offer is a fantastic selection of lights that really made the clever set work. The play itself I would describe as a very dark comedy, using some very known characters from fairy tales and twisting them on their heads! Drugs, Sex and Prostitution going hand in hand with Snow white, Goldilocks and Robin hood... You get the idea. Its a murder mystery, with several hilarious twists that had my stomach muscles in pain at some points, although the play also deals with some tough issues very well. After the show, I was joined by the cast and crew for another famous cocktail and was made to feel part of the family. A quite beautiful feeling! I am sure this production will be repeated soon and it is definitely worth a watch! Until then, I cannot wait for the next production at this venue, with staff and performances at that standard I can see the theatre really taking off!
i have seen a few shows at this venue. I think it has an amazing atmosphere. It's a small theatre space about 40 seats so you feel like you are a part of the performance. Really nice vibe with very friendly staff and wonderful cocktails too!
