Scrooge the musical

Bridging the gap between 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', Bill Kenwright's family musical returns for the umpteenth time, as inevitable a fixture of the winter theatre scene as Christmas pudding and mince pies. Entertainer Tommy Steele takes the title role, as he has with unerring regularity since 2003 – though prayers that he might allow the most miserly of misers to break out into an impromptu rendition of 'Tallahassee Lassie' have as yet remained unanswered. Still, there should be much to enjoy for those who like to keep their pre-Christmas entertainment traditional – including special effects by magician Paul Kieve, who created the magic in the Harry Potter films (no, it wasn't real). Ages 5+.
