The Empty Quarter

Playwright on the rise Alexandra Wood, whose adaptation of Jung Chang's 'Wild Swans' at the Young Vic was a hit last year, brings her latest play to Hampstead theatre's new writing programme Hampstead Downstairs. 'The Empty Quarter' explores a rising trend of young British professionals moving to Dubai. Greg and Holly initially embrace the tax-free haven, the new appartment and the exotic landscape, but quickly find issue with a society they don't understand.
