Company Primavera has made three 'rediscoveries' as part of their programme this year. The first of which is this play by Arthur Wing Pinero, set in an ex-pat community in Venice. The piece deals with the conventions of marriage, provoked by the arrival of politician Lucas Cleeve and his intriguing travelling companion Agnes Ebbsmith who are living together in a 'compact'. Cleeve's family turn up to try to convince him to return to his wife and career.
