Volunteer to read one or more of Shakespeare's 154 sonnets or drop in and listen throughout the day. Dr Roy Booth, senior lecturer in Renaissance literature at Royal Holloway, will introduce the event. The readings are part of Shakespeare Week at Guildhall Library, celebrating the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth. Other events include a talk on what it would have been like to read a newly published play by Shakespeare (6pm-8pm. Thursday April 24. £5) and a Shakespeare City Walk led by actor Declan McHugh (6pm-8pm. Tuesday April 22 and Wednesday April 23. £10). The library also has an exhibition running until Wednesday May 28.
