Fancy some good old-fashioned digging but don't have your own garden? Get a trowel-load of the third annual Big Dig, which invites volunteers to help out at their local community garden – just as the growing season begins. The initiative is led by Capital Growth, a network dedicated to producing food in London, and aims to put together willing volunteer labour with the gardens that can put their help to use. It's good fun, but it certainly isn't clean.
