Celebrating Bangladeshi New Year with traditional festivities including a procession, music, dancing and food, particularly curries. The day kicks off with a procession of 300 school children and performing arts groups, and the mela continues on Brick Lane and in Weaver's Fields in Bethnal Green with live bands, DJs, a funfair, market and food stalls. This year sees the introduction of a youth stage featuring Bollywood singing star Ash King as well as other British Asian and international artists.
