The pretty waterways of Little Venice will be even more colourful than usual for 2016's May bank holiday weekend as the Inland Waterways Association organises their annual gathering of canal boats. Around 130 boats will be moored along the stretch of the Grand Union Canal between Blomfield Road, Warwick Avenue and Warwick Crescent for the Canalway Cavalcade, which has taken place every year since 1983. Many of the waterborne homes will be dressed up to the nines ready for the pageant, and visitors can expect plenty of very British fun including morris dancers and a real ale tent. There'll also be trade stalls, live music, children's activities and refreshments.

Lovely and family friendly boat festival in Little Venise where hundred of boats and barges are decorated for their annual gathering.  The atmosphere is very friendly with several animations for all ages, food stalls, competitions and boat parade.

I love Little Venice at all times! This special weekend is very busy, especially for families who come to walk around, let the kids play on the activities and shop the little stalls. The boats are really pretty all lined up and you can grab coffee from the river boat or boozy drink from the pub. I like to do the walk along the canal from Little Venice through Regents Park and onto Camden Locke...always a pleasure.

Very nice way to spend a sunny summers day. There were all sorts of market stalls in addition to the boats which added interest for those of us who aren't barge buffs.

Nice weather, enough number of people, great music, yummy foods, drinks and ice cream.... I visited there around 8pm, evening sunset was awesome.

Went out to the Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's and saw two boats getting ready for the festival. Lots of excitement about the event and one boat was 100 years old and they had great balloons to celebrate their birthday occasion. Looks like it will be a grand parade!
