This day-long celebration of all things geological should prove absorbing for rock fans of all ages. Activities include opportunities to handle extraordinary rocks, minerals and fossils, have a go at gem panning, cast a fossil and listen to talks on subjects such as earthquakes and mass extinctions. Stalls on site will sell a range of related objects, including books, equipment and specimens.
