Creative types from the studios and live/work spaces of Hackney Wick and Fish Island take over the V&A for an evening of live performances, debates and one-off displays, with food and drink on sale and music from East London Radio. Catch a dry-land performance by Fjorden’s Ulli Mattsson and Emma Ringqvist (boat dwellers and musicians who lash their traditional canal boats together to create a floating stage). Make a mini cinema and launch it on a DIY canal with Up Projects, the outfit behind east London’s innovative Floating Cinema. Or create your own origami piece to add to an installation by designer Charlotte Papon.
V&A Lates are always exciting events, where the museum throws open their doors once a month for a community takeover. This time, its the turn of one of the most creative secret places of London - Hackney Wick - a tranquil place tucked away behind the former Olympic Park. This will be a huge and exciting treat
