Time Out says

On 6 June 1944, HMS Belfast reportedly fired the first shots on D-Day, the most significant campaign fought by the western Allies during the Second World War. Climb aboard for a weekend of D-Day themed family activities to mark the historic event's 70th anniversary. Receive a mission and search the ship for clues, if you need help volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about life on board HMS Belfast. There will be simulated gun firings at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 4pm each day. Learn about Morse code, enter the gun turret, make a plaster cast medal, design a t-shirt inspired by traditional navy tattoos and take a seat in the captains chair. Family friendly audio guides will give an insight into what it was like for the 950 sailors who had to eat, sleep and work aboard the ship. Activities are included in admission price.
