Time Out says

Former British foreign secretary Sir Edward Grey stood at his window on August 31914 watching the sun set over St James’s Park and uttered the words: ‘The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see the lit again in our lifetime’. He was referring to the impending first World War, which left much of London scarred by shrapnel. This tour begins at that window and takes in parts of the city that are still damaged, as well as memorials, and traces a route through history. Meet at St James’s Park station (you can buy tickets from the guide).
