Along with the picnics and days out, give the kids a chance to feed their brains during the holidays with the Science Museum's family theatre, taking place twice a day in the new theatre space. The sci-fi story of Annabella and Phil's race against time to prove their knowledge of energy offers lots of scope for live experiments on stage, including bubbles set alight to create fireballs, liquid nitrogen exploding underwater, and hydrogen rockets fired into the audience. Ages 7+.

The show will tour the UK with The Science Museum as the first and last stops on the tour. Performance will take place on Thursday April 3 to Friday April 11 and Tuesday July 22 to Sunday April 3.

I went to see the show to check if it might be suitable for my 4.5 year old daughter. There were kids of that age in the audience and I think some enjoyed it, but there might be too much science for that young age, so I won't be taking her to see it this year. Some good and entertaining science experiments throughout the show, with the science behind it perhaps a tad too quickly described by the actors or the virtual scientist - I-nstein. The acting was more suitable for under 7s, but they still animated majority of the kids and you could hear giggles in the audience throughout the show. Hopefully some kids will find the science behind it interesting and we'll have more engineers and scientists and fewer bankers and hedge fund managers :)
