An enchanted forest, magical beanstalk and oompah performances aren't what you'd expect to stumble across on Mare Street this winter, but this immersive bar in the Hackney Empire promises all three. The folk and fairy tale-themed pop-up will be serving winter berry gluhwein, gingerbread toddies and various other warming treats on the bar, and the themed dinner menu includes 'Three Little Pigs' (a pork-heavy Bavarian stew) and 'Magic Beans' (vegetarian casserole). Those who make it up the beanstalk without waking the giant can settle into a beanbag bar for a dessert cocktail such as Golden Egg Nog or Olaf 'Worth Melting For' Marshmallow Slushy. Entry to Skylodge is free.
