Surgeons at Work: The Art of the Operation

The Hunterian Museum presents illustrations, prints, drawings and paintings drawn from its own collection as well as The Royal College of Surgeons of England, featuring representations of surgeons and surgery from the sixteenth to the twenty-first century. Although originally created to convey technical information or to provide a record of treatment many also capture something of the emotions and atmosphere of the theatre and reveal aspects of the unique relationship between patient, surgeon and operating team.
