This annual, local and family-friendly festival packs in some 90 events, from comedy and music to art and theatre. Highlights include a 'Swingin' Sydenham' performance by the South London Jazz Orchestra at St Bartholomew's Church (June 29, 7.30pm; £9, £8 concs), Arts in the Park Family Fun Day at Home Park featuring live music, dance, street theatre, food stalls and free art workshops (June 30, 1-6pm; free), and a showcase of acclaimed movies at 'Bafta-Winning Short Films' at the Golden Lion pub (July 4, 7.30pm; £5). The two-week event will also feature plenty of children's storytelling, concerts, family workshops, craft classes and Edinburgh Fringe comedy previews. To get a general overview of the arts and culture in the area, you could also follow the Artists Trail, which takes you on a tour of Sydenham to Forest Hill via open house studios, arts centres and public art (on during the three festival weekends).
