Time Out says

New skyscrapers, bridges and residential blocks mean the London landscape is constantly changing but it's not often the capital gets to celebrate a new nature reserve. However, on Saturday April 25, from 2pm, Clapham Common's Wetland Creation Project is inviting locals to help finish the final stages by planting up the area surrounding Eagle Pond. Wear your wellies and bring a pair of gloves; tools will be provided for those who want to get stuck in. Younger green-fingered nature enthusiasts can help out by lobbing aquatic plants into the middle of the pond. At 3pm Jane Edbrooke, Lambeth's council member for Neighbourhoods,  will officially open the wetlands and a new interpretation board, which will provide information about the site as well as plant, insect and other pond life in this new habitat. The pond is located on Clapham Common Southside about 100m south of the Windmill Pub, towards Clapham South tube station.
