Live Australian F1 Grand Prix
Sat Mar 16, 4.30-8.30am, Sky Sports F1
Fri Mar 8 2013
Mark Thompson
World champion for the past three seasons, Sebastian Vettel is once again the hot favourite to retain his Formula One crown in 2013. The Red Bull driver will be hard to beat at the season opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, but is likely to face stiff competition from Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, now McLaren’s sole British representative.
It’ll be interesting to see how Button adapts to life without Lewis Hamilton, and whether he flourishes alongside new teammate Sergio Pérez. Hamilton himself may cause a few surprises too, after setting some blistering times in his new Mercedes during the recent pre-season testing. Without the burden of expectation or a ‘favourite’ tag, Hamilton will no doubt be hoping to cause a few upsets.
