Lord Foster's reworked Wembley Stadium will be an impressively grand setting for the finals of the London 2012 Football. With a 90,000-seat capacity, it is Europe's second-largest stadium, and its arch (at 317m, longer than a Eurostar train) became an instant landmark back in 2007.
So close to the real matchday experience you can almost smell Rooney's socks, Wembley's 90-minute tours include the chance to see the England team's changing rooms and warm-up areas, walk through the players' tunnel, sit in the dugouts, climb the 107 Trophy Winner's steps and hold an FA Cup replica in the Royal Box.
Exhibits to look out for on the tour include the famous crossbar from the 1966 World Cup Final and the trophy awarded to the '66 team by FIFA to commemorate their win. (The original Jules Rimet World Cup trophy went to Brazil in 1970, where it was stolen and never recovered.)
You can also see matchworn items and medals from the likes of David Beckham, David Villa, Steven Gerrard and Graeme Souness as part of the temporary Exhibition of Champions, featuring Champions League memorabilia, which the stadium is hoping to extend through the year.
Tours will be on hold for the duration of the London 2012 Games. Last tour date before the Olympics is July 13.
