London Hippodrome review Rate it
Variously a circus arena, theatre, cabaret restaurant and a Peter Stringfellow club, the Hippodrome has seen it all. Polar bears, the Russian Ballet and Judy Garland have all featured in its colourful history, and its closure in 2005 (the venue then operating as a nightclub) was a blow to London's entertainment scene. Resurrected in 2008, the owners of the gorgeous 1900 building paid tribute to the Hippodrome's roots by staging cabaret circus troupe, La Clique. Sadly, plans for a swish, mammoth casino, replete with a Gordon Ramsey, are still on the cards.
