What is 'following'?
Less a warehouse than an intimate chamber, Donmar is tucked modestly down a cobbled Covent Garden street. Artistic director Michael Grandage has kept the venue on a fresh, intelligent path as well as finding time to run a high profile, dual season at Wyndham's (that brought Judy Dench and Jude Law to the stage) and tour productions such as 'Guys And Dolls' and 'Frost/Nixon'. Donmar Warehouse's combination of artistic integrity and intimate space is hard to resist, which is perhaps why so many film actors have returned to their roots on stage here: among them former 'X Files' star Gillian Anderson in Ibsen's 'A Doll's House' and Ewan McGregor in 'Othello'. Star-appeal aside, the compact venue also looks after the next generation of theatre creatives with a Student Rep Scheme that encourages young writers through access to post-show talks, readings and dress rehearsals.
