The Drill hall is at the forefront of experimental and gay theatre, with queer performers in particular benefiting from the venue's policy to nurture new, leftfield work. Michelle Shocked and the Ridiculous Theatrical Company both made their UK debuts here and the Drill Hall can be relied on to premiere and present challenging, innovative material. The line-up is broad and inclusive with music, drama and camp comedies as well as a strong education programme and a variety of classes.
