Lyceum Theatre review Rate it

Taking up residency in 1999, animal-tastic musical 'The Lion King' shows no signs of moving out of the Lyceum, its vibrant yellow banners as much a part of the theatre's exterior as its original, nineteenth-century portico. On the plus side, at least the Lyceum is being used. The theatre - once managed by Henry Irving - has stood dark and dormant for periods of its history. It hasn't always operated as a theatre either, the venue variously renovated into a wartime ballroom and transformed into a gig venue where The Clash, Bob Marley, and The Who all played.
