It's no secret that there is plenty of expensive real estate in Los Angeles. But while our friends over in New York shell out millions for tiny apartments, we, for the most part, get what we pay for. These places are shockingly gorgeous and we're mostly just sad that we'll never get to live in any of them—unless anyone has a few extra millions lying around that they'd like to share?

1. Listing price: $149,000,000

Location: Beverly Hills

The Scoop: This estate is not only the most expensive listing in LA, it's the most expensive listing in the entire country. It has 12 bedrooms and 16.75 bathrooms, sits on 25 acres of land and has room for about 150 cars to park. 

2.  Listing price: $85,000,000

Location: Holmby Hills

The Scoop: This 60-room residence with 17 bedrooms and 22 bathrooms spans about 30,000 square feet, including a 6,000-square foot movie theater.

3. Listing price: $55,000,000

Location: Brentwood

The Scoop: This 10 bedroom, 16 bathroom private estate owned by Norman Lear includes a 35 car garage, two guest houses and a two-story library.

4. Listing price: $49,995,000

Location: Holmby Hills

The Scoop: This modern mansion was completed in August 2014 and features an open floor plan with 8 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms as well as amenities like a wine cellar and an infinity pool.

5. Listing price: $45,000,000

Location: Holmby Hills

The Scoop: This 8 bedroom, 11 bathroom Mediterranean estate has 26-foot beamed ceilings and tons of amenities, including a tennis court.
