British expats seem to love LA, or at least our beaches and sunshine. The feeling is mutual—after all, we at Time Out are the West Coast love child of a London magazine—and found in our wholehearted embrace of fish and chips spots and whiskey bars. For one week a year, that friendship takes center stage during BritWeek, a citywide celebration of all things British. We've picked out nine of our favorite events below.

Apr 25: BritWeek Robertson Boulevard Shopping Stroll

Shop (and drink) your way down Robertson with discounts and in-store events at Reiss, Michael Kors, Eileen Fisher and more.

Apr 25: Santa Monica Rugby Club

Watch four matches of the rough English football variant, including a chance to see the Santa Monica Dolphins pound the San Francisco Golden Gate into the ground.

Apr 26: Village Green Preservation Society Tea Party

Snack on biscuits and "post-WWII British tea" while partaking in playground games like guess the weight of the cake, penny up the wall and hopscotch at the Hotel Shangri-La.

Apr 27: Focus on British Short Film

Watch nine indie shorts and participate in follow-up filmmaker Q&As on the balcony atop Downtown's AT&T Center.

Apr 30: The Second Summer of Love

Listen to dublab DJs spin late '80s acid house tracks during this music and art night at Upstairs at the Ace.

Apr 30: Artist Talk: Thomas Heatherwick

Hear the British designer discuss his imaginative building and furniture concepts at the Hammer Museum, which is currently hosting an exhibition on the artist's studio.

May 1: BritWeek Scotch Tasting

Sip and savor servings of Macallan scotch at the Pikey—something we know a thing or two about.

May 1: "A Lad Insane" by Brian Duffy

Attend the opening reception for this exhibition of five album cover photo sessions spent with David Bowie in the '70s.

May 2: Inner City Shakespeare Ensemble

See high school students tackle Twelfth Night and The Taming of the Shrew during this free pair of performances at Grand Park.
