Run the Jewels may have already played Coachella (and FYF) last year, but the hip-hop duo wasn't about to rehash the same old show. They brought out new songs, surprise guests and even El-P's legs (they had to scrap their previously planned denim suits due to the 90-plus degree heat).

To start, Senator Bernie Sanders introduced his friends Run the Jewels in a prerecorded video shown before the duo's Coachella 2016 set. The presidential candidate talked about palling around with his friend Killer Mike, getting to know El-P better and helping the two out "by bringing a few young people together." Paired with a very violent anti-Donald Trump animation afterwards, we'd say RTJ's political allegiances aren't a secret.

Sanders wasn't the afternoon's only cameo. Hip hop luminary Nas grabbed the mic to run through 2002's "Made You Look," and complimented RTJ by calling them his favorite group. Seminal instrumental producer DJ Shadow showed up on stage for his brutal RTJ collaboration, "Nobody Speak." And Gary Clark Jr., who performed on the same stage just an hour earlier, lent some guitar licks to the set's close after badass lady rapper Gangsta Boo sexed up some verses during "Love Again."

The set came to a close with a nearly teary eyed Killer Mike shaking hands with the crowd and thanking Sanders, his backup singers, fans and "these big obnoxious ass blowup hands."
