Ellen K is leaving Ryan Seacrest

It's well-known that Los Angeles residents spend a lot of time in their cars, particularly on their morning commutes. What's made it a little easier for many drivers is listening to 102.7 KIIS FM's popular "On Air with Ryan Seacrest," on which Seacrest and longtime co-host Ellen K had a rapport that most radio hosts could only dream of. But today it was announced that Ellen K will be leaving the show to lead her own morning show on KOST 103.5.

Today's entire broadcast was dedicated to the announcement, with listeners calling in to express their disappointment and wish her luck. Seacrest, while outwardly upset at losing his longtime partner, expressed support for his friend and co-worker in her new venture. He also made sure to highlight the importance of the move, saying multiple times that the industry is led by males who make more money than their female counterparts, so Ellen getting her own morning show was a step in the right direction for all women in the industry.

On Twitter, the radio host expressed a more personal reaction, saying "my life coach, my confidant, my rock..my cohost of 11 years @officialEllenK is leaving @onairwithryan :("

However, he wasted no time trying to find a new co-host and was already taking auditions from staff members on air to fill Ellen's spot—all in good fun we're sure. Really though, Seacrest has a couple weeks to find the right candidate. "The Ellen K Morning Show on KOST 103.5" will debut October 19 at 6am.

So who do we think will end up getting the gig? We can't help but think of Khloe Kardashian. We all know about Seacrest's love of the Kardashian family (he's the executive producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians) and she's dabbled in radio before. Who do you think should get the job?
