The Dodgers are officially in the playoffs after last night's win over the Giants

The Dodgers going to playoffs feels good. The Dodgers going to the playoffs after beating the Giants on their own home turf is on a different level. Last night’s 8-0 victory at AT&T Park in San Francisco, thanks to Clayton Kershaw who threw a one-hit shutout against our Bay Area rivals.

Even if you haven't been following the Dodgers, there's plenty about this win to celebrate. This is the third consecutive year the Dodgers have won the National League West, which is a franchise first. And while we’ve been in a good position to take the title, last night's win and clinch was drawn out a little longer than we would have liked — the Dodgers had lost four straight games, and eight out of the last ten. But that aside, we won, and are post-season bound, and that’s all that matters. Fun fact: this is also the third straight time the Giants have not made the playoffs after winning the World Series the previous year.

The playoff Wild Card games start October 6, but the Dodgers have at least one week off before we have to take on the National League East champs, the New York Mets, in the first series. If the Dodgers win two out of our final five games before the postseason starts, we will host game one at Dodger stadium. Otherwise, the series will start in New York.

After last night’s game, the Dodgers rushed the field to celebrate their victory as AT&T posted a message on their scoreboard that read "Congratulations L.A. Dodgers! #respecttherivalry."

Here are 19 photos that attempted to capture the madness:
